Return Policy
This Return Policy explains the circumstances in which products purchased from Nirajdev Shop, operated by NIRAJDEV COMMODITY TRADERS PRIVATE LIMITED, may be considered for return, replacement or other appropriate resolution.
Food products require careful return handling.
- Damaged products may be reviewed.
- Wrong products may be eligible for resolution.
- Tampered or compromised packs should be reported.
- Opened food normally cannot be returned merely because of change of mind.
- Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Because our store includes food and grocery products, return requests must take into account hygiene, food safety, tamper-evident packaging, shelf life, product condition and whether an item can safely be accepted back into inventory. This Policy does not limit any mandatory right or remedy available under applicable Indian consumer law.
Scope of This Return Policy
This Policy applies to eligible physical products purchased through Nirajdev Shop, including:
- Rice and grains.
- Atta and flour.
- Pulses and dal.
- Spices and whole spices.
- Dry fruits and nuts.
- Sugar and jaggery.
- Cereals and pantry essentials.
- Other eligible grocery products.
Return eligibility depends on the nature of the product, its condition, packaging, the reason for the request and applicable law.
Special Rules for Food Products
Hygiene and safety matter when reviewing returns.
Food and grocery products differ from ordinary durable goods because opening, handling, environmental exposure or improper storage may affect safety or saleability.
For this reason, correctly supplied food products that have been opened, used, consumed or materially handled will ordinarily not be accepted back merely because a customer changes their mind.
This does not prevent a customer from raising a legitimate complaint about damaged, defective, unsafe, contaminated, incorrect or materially misdescribed goods.
Situations That May Be Eligible for Review
A return, replacement, refund or other appropriate resolution may be considered where applicable if:
The item delivered is materially different from the product ordered.
The product or its primary packaging was materially damaged during delivery.
Sealed food packaging appears opened, leaking or materially tampered with.
A genuine product defect or safety concern is identified and supported by relevant details.
Situations Normally Not Eligible for Return
Subject to mandatory legal rights, a food or grocery product will ordinarily not be accepted for return where:
The correct food product was supplied but is no longer wanted.
The product has been opened, used, partly consumed or materially handled.
The product deteriorated after delivery because storage instructions were not followed.
The complaint relates solely to reasonable natural variation in agricultural products.
A commercial restriction above does not prevent a customer from pursuing any statutory remedy available for defective, unsafe, wrong, misdescribed or otherwise non-compliant goods.
Damaged Products
If a product arrives materially damaged, crushed, broken, leaking or otherwise compromised during shipment, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please retain the product and packaging while the request is under review where reasonably practicable.
We may ask for clear images or video showing:
- The shipping parcel.
- The shipping label.
- The affected product.
- The damaged primary packaging.
- Any visible leakage or contamination.
Incorrect Product Received
If the product received is materially different from the product shown in your confirmed order, contact our customer support team.
Please provide:
- Your order number.
- Name of the product ordered.
- Name of the product received.
- Clear photographs of the item received.
- Packaging or label images where relevant.
Where the issue is verified, an appropriate remedy may be provided according to availability, applicable policies and consumer law.
Missing Items
If a product listed in the confirmed order appears to be missing from the delivered shipment, contact us with the relevant order details.
We may review packing, shipping and fulfilment records before determining the appropriate resolution.
In some cases an order may be split into multiple shipments. Please check available tracking information before reporting an item as missing.
Tampered, Leaking or Unsealed Food Packaging
Customers should inspect sealed food products before opening or consuming them.
If the product appears to have arrived:
- Already opened.
- With a materially broken seal.
- Leaking.
- With significant packaging damage.
- With signs of contamination.
Do not consume the affected product. Contact our support team and retain the product and packaging while the complaint is being reviewed.
Natural Variation in Agricultural Products
Certain products including grains, pulses, spices, jaggery, dry fruits and other agricultural products may naturally differ between batches.
Reasonable variations may include:
- Colour.
- Shape.
- Grain size.
- Texture.
- Natural surface appearance.
- Minor seasonal characteristics.
Such natural variation alone will not ordinarily mean that a product is defective, provided it remains consistent with the product description and applicable quality or safety requirements.
Information and Evidence We May Request
To review a return-related complaint fairly, we may reasonably request:
- Order number.
- Customer name and registered contact details.
- Name of the affected product.
- Description of the issue.
- Clear photographs or video.
- Images of product packaging.
- Batch number where relevant.
- Manufacturing or packing information.
- Best-before, use-by or expiry information.
Requests for evidence are intended to help verify and resolve genuine complaints and do not remove any mandatory consumer rights.
Return Request Process
Share the order number and details of the issue.
Submit relevant photos or information if requested.
We review the request and order information.
An eligible remedy is provided where appropriate.
Products should not be sent back to our registered office or any other location unless our support team has specifically provided return instructions.
Inspection and Verification
Return-related requests may be reviewed against available information including order details, photographs, product labels, packaging, fulfilment records and courier information.
If a physical return is required, the returned product may be inspected to confirm:
- Product identity.
- Packaging condition.
- Whether the item has been opened or used.
- Nature of the reported defect or damage.
- Whether supplied evidence matches the returned item.
Replacement, Refund or Other Resolution
Where a complaint is verified and a remedy is appropriate, the resolution may depend on:
- The nature of the issue.
- Product availability.
- Condition of the product.
- Whether replacement is practicable.
- Applicable consumer rights.
- Our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
An eligible case may result in replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
For payment and refund processing details, please review our Refund & Cancellation Policy .
Return Shipping
Where a physical return is authorised, return instructions will be communicated by our support team.
Depending on the circumstances, return collection may be arranged through a logistics partner or the customer may be given another approved return method.
Customers should not independently courier products to us unless instructed to do so, as unauthorised shipments may not be traceable or accepted.
Customer Responsibility After Delivery
Customers should inspect food and grocery products reasonably promptly after delivery and follow all storage and handling instructions printed on the actual product packaging.
After delivery:
- Keep products in appropriate storage conditions.
- Protect products from moisture where required.
- Follow refrigeration instructions where applicable.
- Check seals before consumption.
- Review applicable best-before or expiry information.
- Follow manufacturer or packer instructions.
Consumer Rights and Applicable Law
This Return Policy is intended to operate consistently with applicable Indian consumer protection and e-commerce requirements.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, reduce or waive any mandatory right or remedy that a consumer may have in relation to defective, damaged, unsafe, incorrect, misdescribed or otherwise non-compliant goods.
Where a mandatory legal requirement provides a customer with a right or remedy greater than that described in this Policy, the mandatory requirement will apply to the extent required by law.
